Should I just give up?

Should I just give up on blogging? Probably, but I'm going to give it one more try.

It takes 6 hours to cook a 40 lb turkey. It should take longer, I know. I was figuring at least 8 hours, maybe 10. I don't know why it cooked so fast. Perhaps because it was almost touching all sides of the oven? Top and bottom too. Who knows. All I can say is that it was actually pretty good, despite the fact that all the advice I was able to find said not to bother cooking such a big turkey.

Why did I have such a big turkey to begin with? Because my husbands parents raise a few turkeys every year. These particular turkeys grew really huge, really quickly. The one we ate for Christmas was even bigger. Maybe next year we'll put them on a diet.
